Children's Liturgy of the Word
Children’s Liturgy of the Word for children ages 5-10 takes place during the Sunday 10:30 Mass.  The children are sent forth from the Main Assembly to the BVM Room after the Opening Prayer where they hear the Sunday readings proclaimed from the Lectionary for Masses with Children.  The children and their leaders reflect on the readings and share a “dialogue homily.”  They sing, offer intercessions, and make a Profession of Faith before returning to the Main Assembly during the Preparation of the Gifts and Altar. Read a more detailed description.

Family Faith
Family Faith is a once-a-month, intergenerational faith formation gathering. It is for all parish families with school-aged children. We meet on the third Sunday of the month, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 p.m., in Murphy Hall. We share coffee, juice and donuts and then learn about our faith: the creed, worship and sacraments, moral teachings, and prayer. We use music, videos, art, and drama, as well as textbooks and handouts. In addition, there are free, online resources we use at www.FaithFirst.com. Families are given activities and readings to complete during the month between Family Faith Gatherings. Registration Form: page 1, page 2.

Parent Education
Mariann McCormally leads parent classes for First Communion and First Reconciliation Preparation. She also offers sessions on topics such as "Family Prayer" and "Raising Faith-Filled Children in a Consumer Society" and a sexuality-education course for parents and young teens. See the parish calendar for more details. Mariann is always interested in working with families to find topics that will be of interest to them.

Returning Catholics
When someone approaches the parish, wishing to return to the active practice of the faith, Mariann McCormally meets with them and determines how to best "update" them. Some choose to go through a modified catechumenate process.  Others meet with Mariann or other staff members and/or parishioner-sponsors individually.

Sunday Morning Pre-School
Sunday Morning PreSchool for children ages 2-3-4 during the 10:30 Mass.  The children learn about God's love, pray together, pray togehter, play and have fun in a safe and creative environment.  Parents are encouraged to bring their children to the Romero Room before mass and meet teacher Miss Tara Harris  and her aide, Rockhurst University student Andrea Essner.
