Lent

We are offfering a number of special programs to help you in your growth to Lent:
Soup and Synodality,
Reconciliation Service,
Stations of the Cross.

Soup and Synodality

Our annual SFX Lenten speaker series will focus on the call to LISTEN to one another as we journey into the future as a parish community. We will sit at tables together in the back of church, enjoy a good meal, and have lively conversation. Sign up in the back of church to bring soup or bread and/or to help set up and clean up each week or sign up here online.

February 28

Michael Sanem, Minister of Evangelization at Church of the Nativity, Leawood will help us understand more deeply what the synod is and why it matters.

March 6

Michael Sanem will lead us in an experience of synodal listening.

March 13

Maria Milazzo, M.Div, Theology Instructor at Notre Dame de Sion HS and RCIA Coordinator at St. Sabina’s, Belton will help us reflect on the church’s call to accompany young people in the creation of a hope-filled future.

March 20

SFX Parishioners: Gene and Maureen Hardy, Patti Dickinson, Dave and Jennifer Rouyer, Shatonda Jones and Tony Sapad, Natalie Niebert and Daniella Johnson will share a bit of their own faith journeys and how SFX helps them live out their vocations.

Stations of the Cross

March 1

As we journey with Jesus, we are mindful of the racism, inequality, and division that exists in our world, in our communities, and in our hearts.  Join us as we pray the Stations of the Cross through the lives of the marginalized and persecuted.

March 8

On International Women’s Day, we honor the lives and sacrifices of women around the world. We will pray the Stations of the Cross through the eyes of our Blessed Mother, Mary, who intercedes for us and whose witness and example we follow.

March 22

Praying the Stations of the Cross for Peace and Healing will lead us into Holy Week. We will walk with Jesus along his violent and unjust path to death and pray for peace in our hearts and in our troubled world.
