Confirmation
The Sacrament of Confirmation is one of the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. Confirmation “confirms” our infant baptism and strengthens within us the Gifts of the Spirit: Wisdom, Understanding, Right Judgment, Courage, Knowledge, Reverence and Wonder & Awe in God’s Presence.
We celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation every-other-year at SFX with young people in Grades 9-10. Our next Confirmation Prep Class will begin in the spring of 2021 for those currently in Grades 8-9. They will be confirmed as freshmen and sophomores in late winter/early spring 2022 (date and place to be determined). In the meantime, let’s pray for our tweens and teens (and all our parish youth).
St. Francis Xavier offers an INTENSE preparation process for those young men and women in Grade 9 (and older). The process includes: regular Mass attendance, instruction, retreats and prayer along with experiences of service and advocacy.

Practicing Catholics, age 21 and older, who “missed” being confirmed as teenager receive the Sacrament of Confirmation once a year at a special ceremony at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Adult Confirmation 2021 date tbd.
